This page provides a link to the Michigan - Melbourne Refugee Caselaw Site hosted by The University of Michigan Law School.

Refugee Case Law currently collects, indexes and publishes selected court decisions that interpret the legal definition of a 'refugee'.   It presently contains cases from the highest national courts of Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.  Leading cases are being added from Austria, Belarus, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and Turkey. In addition decisions are being added from a wider range of courts and tribunals in four of the countries already included in the core collection: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

The cases in the core collection have been selected and summarised by the Director of the Refugee Caselaw Site, Professor James C Hathaway, the James E and Sarah A Degan Professor of Law at the University of Michigan, and Professorial Fellow at the University of Melbourne.
